19 As water reflects a face,
so a man's heart reflects the man.
Love does not rely on feelings
for they have shown their unpredictability
and are no more consistent as the rain.
How is it, you have come to disregard your vows?
And I suppose you think, being a man explains your behavior.
Still I say:
Is there anyone like Paul? Show me a man more faithful?
As for yourself, though you’re old enough
you are still a boy, and not yet a man!
You have sworn yourself to her,
but I'm your unmarked terrain, an eruption shifting your earth.
If poetry is all these lines should create, you must know...
destiny has a way of thwarting even the most well intentioned plan.
It is not enough to love with your lips
for love is more than our words
and is shown by the honor it receives. Yet on days like today, logic has no use,
and I've come to the end of understanding
what only providence can explain.
Again I say:
Is there anyone like Paul?
Show me a man more faithful?
